Ta-Da. Yes this is the contraption that Joe the Contractor has put in my basement to keep my house from rolling off the hill. They were suppose to begin taking down the fireplace today. But, they are not going to begin until next week.

As I sat in the living room with my coffee this morning it occured to me that I needed to break out a box and clear the 20 breakable items that were on the mantle. Like right now. You Know before they arrive. And I had to drag the heavy ass, hallway door from the basement to rehang so I can keep the cats away from the construstion zone. But I came to my senses and sequestered them in the office and bedroom into compatible pairs (Spidey and Max are still “working it out”). As a matter of fact, I am pretty much going to have to outright pack up half of my house because it will become one big construction zone.

I can not tell you how freaked out I am right now. I will be spending the weekend filling the freezer with microwavable meals, making sure I know where my tax shit is before I fill the office with crap from the rest of the house, and consolidating the dye studio. While Joe assures me they will be able to work around the yarn thing, I just am not seeing how that is possible. {{{gulp}}}
