I fell off my bike and am missing a layer or 2 of skin on my knee. I would love to say I was flying down Roan Mountain on my bike and ended up kissing asphault. But the truth is Suzanne and I had driven our bikes to the leisurely path at Beaver Lake, where I simply lost my balance on a wuss turn and scraped my knee. The nice lady walking the pekinese asked if I was okay. I am freakishly proud of my “injury” none the less.
I did try to see Farenheit 911, but did not get in line soon enough to get in (we were even 40 minutes early). Maybe next week. I may even take a long lunch and see it.
I cranked 16 rows on front of the age of aquarius and weed wacked the yard betwwen rain showers and bought local blueberries and blackberries to make a cobbler. It is a super easy recipe:
2 cups of fruit
1 cup of self-rising flour
1 tsp of oil
1 cup milk (I use soy, vanilla soy even better)
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup butter
Cut oil into the shortning until it resembles coarse meal. Mix in sugar and milk
until smooth. Melt butter in an oven proof pan. Pour batter into pan, top with berries. Cook in an 350 degree oven until browned and not jiggly (about 45-50 min) Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
Possible fruit fillings:
Peach and ginger
any combo of berries(I love blackberries and blueberries)
cherries
apples with cinnamon
